The University of Arkansas has a rich tradition of exceptional alumni. SAA can connect you with alumni in a variety of fields. “Hearing from a Hog” offers the opportunity for students to get together with alums in a casual small group setting in a field that interests them. SAA is here to help deliver a balance of college life and real world preparations. We want to offer you new experiences outside the traditional classroom through personal connections with Arkansas alumni.

Alumni: Judy Covert, Katie McGehee and Lynann Papan

Lunch: March 11, 2017 - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location: Hembree Alumni House - Boyer

More About Ms. Covert:
  • Current Occupation: I am a retired school teacher - now working for a shipping/crating company
  • Current City: Wichita, KS (and Fayetteville, AR)
  • Year Graduated from the U of A: Dec 1983 (Class of 1984)
  • Degree: BA in English - minors in mathematics/middle & secondary education
  • What knowledge do you hope to share with students? Your passion and love for what you do are what make your best career choice better than a job (it may not be in your chosen field of study). Don't tie yourself to something because it is expected - use your degree as a way to explore opportunities.

More About Ms. McGehee:
  • Current Occupation:  Currently on Sabbatical but formerly a General Production Manager, Tyson Foods, Inc., Center, Texas
  • Current City: Ozark, Arkansas
  • Year Graduated from the U of A: 2013
  • Degree: B.S. Poultry Science with a minor in Environmental, Soil, and Water Science
  • What knowledge do you hope to share with students? It’s easy to forget the clichés when circumstances overwhelm us, but they’re important to remember. Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Everything is temporary. And we all have a plan until we get punched in the face.

More About Ms. Papan:
  • Current Occupation:  Director of Special Projects for Complete Care, Inc.
  • Current City: Little Rock, Arkansas
  • Year Graduated from the U of A: 1985
  • Degree: B.S. in Business Administration
  • What knowledge do you hope to share with students? I would love to share the benefits of keeping in contact with fellow students and professors and administrators and everyone else they have met at the U of A. I want to share the importance of getting involved in their community and with the alumni groups. And, of course, anything else I need to share.
