The Arkansas Alumni Association strives to recognize outstanding student achievement in academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, and significant campus and/or community involvement. Award recipients excel in all categories and represent a model Razorback Graduate.
The Senior Honor Citation was established by the Association in 1965, honoring the top undergraduate senior man and woman.
The Razorback Classics award dates back to 1916, originally a beauty contest called the Razorback Belles. The Arkansas Yearbook staff transformed this award in 1994 to recognize outstanding student achievement. Working with the Yearbook staff in the Fall of 2013, the Arkansas Alumni Association expanded their student awards program by reestablishing the Razorback Classics. In honor of 1910 – the year the Razorback became the University of Arkansas’s mascot - the 10 male and 10 female awardees are selected.
In the final phase of the Associations Senior Award program expansion, during the Fall of 2014, the Seniors of Significance program was introduced. These students represent the top seniors from each year’s graduating class. Only Seniors of Significance are able to apply to be selected for the top awards on campus – the Razorback Classics & Senior Honor Citation.
