Frequently Asked Questions

 

Is there a priority deadline for freshmen?

No. The Alumni Association scholarship application will be open to all students – incoming freshmen and current students – January 1 through February 15, 2017.  The only deadline is 11:59 pm Central Standard Time, February 15, 2017.  The application may be accessed through the Alumni Association website beginning January 1.

 

Do I have to be related to a University of Arkansas graduate in order to apply?

No, not all Alumni scholarships require students to have a legacy connection.  All applications fully submitted by the February 15 deadline are eligible for the Arkansas Alumni Association Scholarship Review.

 

I have not received official notification from the University of Arkansas regarding my admission. Can I still apply?

Yes, you can still apply for Arkansas Alumni Association scholarships once you have received your university ID#, username, and password.  You must, however, be fully admitted before accepting a scholarship offer.

 

Do I have to log-in to access the online scholarship form?

Yes.  You will have to log-in with your University ID and password in order to access the application.  This also allows you to save the application and return to it at a later time.

 

What email address should I provide on the application?

Please use your University of Arkansas (uark) email address. All scholarship information will be e-mailed to your uark email.  Plan to check this account regularly.

 

My ACT is above a 24 but due to a strict grading scale at my high school, my GPA is below a 3.60. Can I still apply?

The GPA recorded by UA Admissions, either weighted or non-weighted, will be the GPA used to determine eligibility for the scholarship review.

 

Do I have to send the Alumni Association a separate transcript?

No, the new scholarship application accesses your admissions information.  You will not send any separate documents to the Alumni Association.

 

How do I submit the required letter of recommendation?

In the new scholarship application, you will provide the name and email address for your reference provider.  Please be sure to have their approval before submitting their information.  Your reference provider will receive an email from scholars@uark.edu requesting their online recommendation.

 

I want to apply for the Endowed Scholarship, “Roads” Scholarship and Chapter Scholarships. Are there different applications?

No, you only need to submit one Arkansas Alumni Association scholarship application to be considered for the Alumni Endowed Scholarship, License Plate Scholarship, Razorback Generations Scholarship, Alumni Board of Directors Scholarship and Alumni Chapter Scholarships.

 

How will I be notified?

All notifications will be sent via university email to students’ Uark accounts.  You will receive immediate feedback when your application is fully submitted.  Freshman award notices will be sent in late Spring.  Current student notices will be sent after Spring semester grades post.
